Polanski's go back to NYFF

Anjelica Huston and Yasmina RezaShanyn Leigh and Abel Ferrara When "Carnage" opened up the 49th annual NY Film Festival on the wet Friday, it had been just the second film from helmer Roman Polanski to obtain a showcase within the fest -- the very first being "Knife within the waterInch in NYFF's initial outing, in 1963. The new sony Pictures Classics, however, is a much more regular presence. Together with "Carnage," SPC has four other films within this year's fest, and "Carnage" reps the distributor's eighth pic to spread out the annual event. SPC's Michael Barker reminisced about a number of individuals memorable tests, such as the 2000 bow of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." "The screening was such as the shot heard across the world," he stated. Additionally to Alice Tully Hall, where "Carnage" unspooled, the fest also offers the Film Society of Lincoln subsequently Center's recently completed, multi-venue Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center to exhibit photos. "The fest turns 50 the coming year, but in lots of ways it feels as though we are just getting began," stated the Society's Ann Tenenbaum.
